Ruth Ida Jones Hayes

Mrs. Ruth Ida Jones Hayes, 93, of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Sentara Woodview, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Hayes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on November 15, 1924 to the late Robert E. and Annie Clark Jones. She was a 1942 graduate of West End High School, Clarksville, VA, and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Mrs. Hayes was a retired certified nursing assistant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hayes; son, LaMartio Martin; two brothers, William L. Jones and Edward Jones, and three sisters, Katie J. Skipwith, Louise J. Skipwith, and Esther J. Parker. Cherishing her memories are her stepdaughter, Veronica Everette (Charles) of Clarksville, VA; five grandchildren, devoted nieces and caregivers, Lillian J. Haymes of South Boston, VA and Sallye S. Goode of Clarksville, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ida Hayes will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dr. Linda Thornton, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service. time. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
