Ruby Haskins Alderson

Mrs. Ruby Haskins Carrington Alderson, 94, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Monday, June 25, 2018 at Sentara MeadowView Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Alderson was born in Halifax County, VA July 28, 1923 to the late Johnie and Mary Eva Richardson Haskins. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mrs. Alderson was formerly employed by Burlington Industries, Clarksville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alderson was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Carrington; second husband; Joseph Alderson; a son, Monte Joshua, and daughter, Elaine Carrington Brown. She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Julie Anderson of Lawrenceville, NJ; four grandchildren, Kevin and Kimberly of New Jersey and Anthony and Chris of New York; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth and Huldah; three brothers, Willie, Thomas and John; a devoted cousin, Fannie Carrington of Red Oak, VA, and a vast number of other loving relative and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Haskins Carrington Alderson will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Roger L. Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
