Roy Shields

Mr. Roy Shields, 75, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2015 at his residence.   Mr. Shields was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 6, 1939 to the late John and Hattie Snead Shields. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Saint Level Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA. He retired from Burlington Industries after serving for 25 years.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Shields and a brother, John Shields, Jr.   Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mary Shields of Skipwith, VA; one daughter, Lisa Green (Chris) of Chase City, VA; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one sister, Nannie Davis of Skipwith, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.   Funeral services for Mr. Roy Shields will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Saint Level Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Toney Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.   Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
