Roy Allen Boyd

Mr. Roy Allen Boyd, 62, of Red Oak, VA was called to his everlasting home on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Mr. Boyd was born on May 23, 1959 in Charlotte County, Virginia to Ms. Minnie Estelle Boyd. He received his education from the Charlotte County Public Schools. He was an employee of Southside Utility Services for 17 years, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg, VA. Mr. Boyd was a diehard fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. In his spare time, he loved to fish and enjoyed watching western movies. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by one daughter, Sade Barnes. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Susan Skipper Boyd; three sons, Anthony Wood, Dashon Brown and Daquan Brown; four daughters, Camelia Wood of Clover, VA, Olympia Boyd of South Hill, VA, Demika Wood of Wylliesburg, VA and Roszetta Skipper of South Boston, VA; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren; mother, Minnie Estelle Boyd; four brothers, Robert and James Boyd both of Red Oak, VA, Dennis Burwell of Red Oak, VA and Arby Redd of Chase City, VA; two aunts; Hazel Mosley and Elvira Boyd; mother in-law, Rosa Skipper, six sisters-in-law and seven brothers-in-law; special family members that treated him as a brother instead of a cousin, Christine Boyd, Charles Boyd, Clifton Boyd, Darrell Mosley, Arlene Staten, and Carolyn Boyd; special friends, Ronnie and Linda Howard, Charlie Skelton, James Redd, George Redd, Andrew Redd, and Oliver Staten, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mr. Roy Allen Boyd will be conducted 12:00 Noon Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Phillip Staten and Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
