Mrs. Rosa Mae Lawrence Joyner, 62, of Richmond, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, January 18, 2016 at Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Joyner was born in Mecklenburg County, VA November 1, 1953 to the late James Keene and Julia Mae Williams. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a CNA at MCV Hospitals, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Joyner enjoyed dancing, cooking, traveling and helping others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Joyner and seven siblings. Cherishing her memories are one son, Samuel Lawrence (Latoya) of Riverdale, GA; two daughters, Charelle Joyner (Steve) and LaRose Joyner both of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Quoran Lawrence, Zion Lawrence, Charniece Joyner and Prinze Lawrence; one brother, Jack Lawrence of Chase City, VA; two sisters, Ruby Boyd of Chase City, VA and Corine Lawrence of South Hill, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Mae Lawrence Joyner will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Jeffrey Davis, officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
