Ronnie Darnell Staten

Mr. Ronnie Darnell Staten, 62, of Wylliesburg, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Centra Southside Community Hospital, Farmville, VA. Mr. Staten was born in Charlotte County, VA June 22, 1953 to the late James Thomas and Gladys Boyd Staten.  He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA.  Mr. Staten was formerly employed by Devin Logging in Wylliesburg as a tree cutter operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie F. Staten, one sister and one brother. Cherishing his memories are three sons, Donnell Ward of Halifax, VA, Leon Ward of Wylliesburg, VA and Lane Staten of Amelia, VA; four brothers, James (Barbara) of Richmond, VA, Clarence (Marion) of Randolph, VA, Warren of Keysville, VA and Michael Staten of Richmond, VA; six sisters, JoAnn Wilson of Wylliesburg, VA, Gladys Jefferson (Donnell) of Richmond, VA, Stella White (Frank) of Fairless Hills, PA, Barbara Wylie of Drakes Branch, VA, Geraldine Johnson (Kenny) of Brookneal, VA  and Peggy Scott (Rev. Stanley) of Saxe, VA; two aunts, Hattie Alexander and Beatrice Boyd both of Baltimore, MD; special caregivers, nephew Jeremiah Wilson and Diana Gilmore; devoted friends Beulah Wood and Charles and Floyd Boyd and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Darnell Staten will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Stanley Scott, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Services 2:00 P.M.  Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015  First Baptist Church Wylliesburg, VA Interment Church Cemetery Public Viewing  Friday 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
