Rohoma W. Brooks

Mrs. Rohoma Wooden Brooks, 71, of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Woodview. Mrs. Brooks was born in Charlotte County, Virginia Sept. 3, 1937 to the late James and Rosetta Wooden. She received her education in the Charlotte County School System and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Brooks, three children, Rohoma, Catherine and Steven, two sisters, Ruth Hickman and Rosetta Wooden and one brother, James Wooden Jr. She leaves to cherish her legacy four daughters, Vickie Sims(Larry) of Scottsburg, VA, Jackie Sims (Sherell) of Nathalie, VA, Rose Dismuke of South Boston, VA and Joyce White (Shawn) of Chase City, VA; tem grandchildren. six great-grandchildren, three sisters Norma Peebles (George) Lovelean Smith (Garland) both of Richmond, VA and Nettie Davis (Charlie) of Henderson, NC, one brother, John Wooden of Scottsburg, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral servcies for Mrs. Rohoma W. Brooks will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 12, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Prophet Harry L. Williams officiating, and Rev. Derwin Hickman delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetry. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
