Robert Henry Mitter

Mr. Robert Henry Mitter, 80, of Victoria, VA quietly slipped away into eternity on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Mitter, affectionately called “Ray”, was born in Lunenburg County, VA on November 11, 1941 to the late Robert and Hester Watson Mitter. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Victoria, VA where he served as Vice Chairman of the Deacon Ministry and Superintendent of Sunday School. Mr. Mitter was a former employee of Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Virgie Blackwell Mitter of Victoria, VA; daughter, Linda Mitter of Chesterfield, VA; grandson, Cameron Dillard of Richmond, VA; sister, Earlean Woodson of Chase City, VA; nephews, Melvin Woodson and Anthony Watson; nieces, Mae, Millie and Roslyn; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lessie Blackwell; sister-in-law, Earlene Watson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Henry Mitter will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 30, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria VA with Rev. William Moore, III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
