Rev. Carolyn Watkins Silver

Rev. Carolyn Watkins Silver, 68, of Henderson, NC entered eternal rest Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Maria Parham Medical Center, Henderson, NC. Rev. Silver was born in Mecklenburg County, VA January 7, 1947 to the late Charles Henry and Ethel Mae Watkins. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and attended St. Augustine’s University, Raleigh, NC and earned an Associate’s Degree from Vance Granville Community College. She joined Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA at an early age and was Associate Minister at Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. Rev. Silver retired from GlaxoSmithKline as an Administrative Assistant and was a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans Auxiliary #67. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Charles and Gene Watkins. She leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Runako S. Roberts of Capital Heights, MD; one daughter, Cherronda Roberts Estep (Gino) of Temple Hills, MD; three grandsons, Darius McKinnon, Dajon Estep and Gino Estep, Jr.; two granddaughters, Destiny Jackson and Giana Estep; one great-grandson, Darius McKinnon, Jr; one brother, Larry Watkins (Lucille) of Henderson, NC; one niece, Nicole Watkins of Henderson, NC; three nephews, Danny and Christopher Watkins and Tyrone Burwell all of Henderson, NC; two Godchildren, Keisha K. Williams of Brandywine, MD and Obanna J. Williams (Miriam) of Waldorf, MD; a sisterly friend of 50 years, Minister Brenda Lloyd of Henderson, NC; two devoted cousins, Arleen and Bradford Wallace of Conway, SC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Rev. Carolyn Watkins Silver will be conducted 3:00 P.M., Monday, October 26, 2015 at Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA with Rev. Dr. James A. Hudson, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M until service time. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA. Service 3:00 P.M.
