Ret. Master Sgt. James Edward Moon

Ret. Master Sgt. James E. Moon, 85, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.
Mr. Moon was born in Chase City, VA on April 7, 1939 to the late James Moon and Mattie Sims. He was a 1957 graduate of West End High School in Skipwith, and a member of Greater Union Baptist Church. Mr. Moon was a retiree of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Moon, and three brothers.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory is wife, Marie Moon of Chase City, VA; son, Brandon Moon (Victoria) of Farmville, VA; two daughters, Daphne Moon of Chase City, VA and Makayla Moon of Victoria, VA; three grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Moon of Chesterfield, VA and Kenneth Odemns of Washington, DC; four sisters, Frances Dailey (Harold) and Joanne Hutchinson both of Maryland, Alma Little (Warren) of Greensboro, NC and Patty Colquitte of Shelby, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Ret. Master Sgt. James E. Moon will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA followed by Full Military Honors. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
