Raymond Ervin Goode

Mr. Raymond E. Goode, 83, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.

Mr. Goode was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 24, 1940 to the late Jesse Raymond and Rachel Lee Tunstall Goode. He attended West End High School in Skipwith, VA and was a member of Silone Baptist Church in Chase City. Mr. Goode was previously employed by the former WestPoint Stevens textile plant in Drakes Branch and was a United States Army veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Goode was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Russell; and three sisters, Ruby Bullock, Jean Smith, and JoAnne Kersey.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory one sister, Barbara E. Hepburn of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Raymond E. Goode will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 10, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
