Mr. Ralph Sterling Lyons, Sr., 64, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, June 2, 2017 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mr. Lyons was born June 7, 1952 in Skipwith, VA to Jeanette and the late Herbert Lyons, Sr. He attended Holly Rock School and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. Mr. Lyons was formerly employed by Monroe Tree Service as a mechanic. In addition to his father, Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Ann Gregory and Sarah Lee Clark and two brothers, Frank Lester Lyons and Herbert Lyons, Jr. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Belinda Louise Lyons of Chase City, VA; three sons, Ralph S. Lyons, Jr. (Monica) of Palmer Springs, VA, David S. and Donald L. Lyons both of Chase City, VA; three daughters, Christina L. Elam, Beth Rusin (George) all of Chase City, VA and Kaniesha N. Osborne of South Boston, VA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his mother, Jeanette Lyons of Chase City, VA; one sister, Jannie Mae Puryear (Donnell) of Chase City, VA; two brothers, Wallace Lyons of Chase City, VA and Willie Lyons (Deborah) of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Sterling Lyons, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
