Mr. Rainer “Prince” Coleman, 53, of Roanoke, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Coleman was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on April 17, 1963 to the late Willie L. and Mary Julia Rainey Coleman. At an early age he joined Greater Union Baptist Church, Chase City, VA and was a graduate of Bluestone High School, Skipwith, VA. While there, he excelled in football, earning an athletic scholarship to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Mr. Coleman was a former truck driver for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, New England Motor Freight and Richmond Tidewater Bumper Service. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and exploring nature. Cherishing his memories are two sisters, Loretta Whitaker (James) and Mary Coleman; one brother, Theeir Coleman (Kathy); one step-sister, Janice Barnette (Robert); three aunts, Mae Parker, Inez Rainey, and Pearl Hardeman; one uncle, Jesse Hardeman; his devoted friend, Rose Davis and her two daughters, Dawn and Monique Curtis and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Rainer Coleman will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Calvin Price, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. The family will receive friend on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
