Rachel Denise Salley

Miss Rachel Denise Salley (Nisey), 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA. Miss Salley was born in Washington, DC on March 23, 1958 to the late William E. and Annie C. Salley. She was a 1976 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA, and a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Miss Salley was a retiree of Mecklenburg Correctional Center, Boydton, VA. Her favorite past times were softball, playing cards, listening to music, horseshoes and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Adora C. Salley. She leaves to cherish her memories three brothers, Christopher Salley (Janice) of Chase City, VA, William “Alonzo” Salley of Neptune, NJ and Timothy Salley (Rosalyn) of South Hill, VA; five sisters, Agatha Salley, Karen Rowlett and Audrey Salley all of Chase City, VA, Michelle Salley of South Hill, VA and Vera Winbush (Junious) of Henderson, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Rachel Denise Salley will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
