Prince Edward Tucker, Jr.

Mr.  Prince Edward Tucker Jr. 59, of Clarksville, VA entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.  Mr. Tucker was born in Mecklenburg County, VA August 11, 1953 to the late Prince Edward and Mary Alice Tucker.  At an early age Mr. Tucker joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA.  At a later time, he became a devoted member of Greater Union Baptist Church.  He was a 1971 graduate of Bluestone Senior High in Skipwith, VA and was employed by Immigration Customs Enforcement in Farmville, VA. In addition to his father, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Tucker Somerville, a son, Christopher Tucker, and his grandmother, Bessie Snead. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Carolyn Roberts Tucker of Clarksville, VA, his children, Prince E Tucker, III (Connie) and Marcus Anthony Tucker all of Atlanta GA, and Cynthia Marie White (Dwayne) of Chesterfield VA , nine grandchildren, Ronald, Marquita, Deniqwia, Keishana, Jazzmine, Markala, Amaya, Keion, and Sha’mya; one great grandchild, Aalayah,  his mother, Mary Alice Tucker of Fayetteville NC;  two brothers, Ricky Tucker (Edryce) of Fayetteville NC and Brian Tucker (Anna) of Alexandria, VA, four sisters, Delois Tucker of Oxford NC, Hazel Stroble  and Nancy Brooks of MD and Tasha Pearson (Joe) of Clarksville, VA; one sister-in-law, Peggy Fields (James), five brothers-in- law, Harold Roberts Jr. of Bridgeport, CT, Jerome Roberts (Vonda) and Alvin Roberts of Chase City, VA and Nathaniel Roberts (Mattie) of Keysville, VA; loyal family friend, Ms. Mary Moorefield and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Prince Edward Tucker Jr. will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Greater Union Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda B. Goode, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith-Tucker Family Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Viewing for Mr. Tucker will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
