Phyllis Ann Ward

Miss Phyllis Ann Ward, 69, of South Boston, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Miss Ward was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 5, 1951 to the late J. D. Ward and Lucille Puryear. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg, VA. Miss Ward was a former cafeteria worker for Halifax County Public Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred L. Ward. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Ronnie Ward of Chase City, VA, Leon Ward of Wylliesburg, VA and John Ward of South Boston, VA; daughter, Shanelle Clarke (William) of Danville, VA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Ward of Drakes Branch, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
