Pernell Fitzgerald White, Sr.

Mr. Pernell Fitzgerald White, Sr., 60, of Concord, NC entered eternal rest on July 10, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. White was born on February 14, 1964 in Washington DC to Marjorie Delores White and the late Henry Nelson White. At an early age he joined Hopps Memorial CME Church in Syracuse, NY, and later joined Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, Maryland. Pernell received his early education in the Onondaga County Public School System in Syracuse, NY, and graduated from Nottingham High School in 1982. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he worked in Civil Engineering as a heavy equipment operator. After fulfilling his military commitment, Pernell decided to attend Commercial Driving School where he successfully obtained his commercial driver’s license (CDL). He drove tractor trailers for many years, and even purchased his own truck. He was also employed by Virginia Concrete Construction. He affectionately earned the name of “grill master” because of his love for grilling. He also enjoyed fishing, and was an avid reader.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and Alberta Seward; paternal grandparents, Lenster and Agnes White; and a sister, Janetta T. White.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Angie S. White of Concord, NC; two sons, Pernell F. White, Jr. (Liza) of Palm Coast, FL and Christian R. White of Waldorf, MD; a daughter, Shantia N. White of Waldorf, MD; four grandchildren, Lamarr Fitzgerald White, Sydney Snow White, Saniyah Autumn White and Syncere Averie White; his mother, Marjorie D. White, and one sister, Wendolyn A. White both of Syracuse, NY, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Pernell Fitzgerald White, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Kim Hester, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA.
