Percy Leon Harris

Mr. Percy Leon Harris, 81, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 15, 1941 to the late William and Geneva Bowers Harris. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of New Light Baptist Church in Skipwith. Mr. Harris was formerly employed by Burlington Industries in Clarksville, VA, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Wood Harris, and two sisters, Delores Harris-Luck and Mildred South.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Janice Jones Harris; five children, Joyce Palmer (Clyde) and Vincent Harris (Angela) both of Clarksville, VA, Angela Gordon (Trenton) of Chase City, VA, Charles Jones (Vanessa) of South Hill, VA and Andre Harris (Suzanna) of Clarksville, VA; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Harris of Clarksville, VA; one brother, Marshall Harris of Skipwith, VA; his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones; daughter-in-law, Wonda Jones; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Gaye), Monroe and Jeffery; three sisters-in-law, Darlene, Doris and Carol (Reggie); a host of nieces and nephews; devoted friend, Anthony Hayes, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Percy Leon Harris will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery in Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
