Percy Lee Bass

Mr. Percy Lee Bass, 65, of Richmond, VA formerly of Clinton, NC and Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Crump Manor Nursing Home, Richmond, VA. Mr. Bass was born in Mecklenburg County, VA August 13, 1942 to the late Freddie and Enola Maline Fields Bass. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and at an early age became a member of New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. While living in Clinton, NC he was a member of Olivet Institute Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Cherishing his memories are three children, Donald Bass of Coeburn, VA, Gay Cassandra Bass of Richmond, VA and Crystal Portillo (Ronnie) of Williamsburg, VA; four step-children, Ellano Draughorn of MD, Elramos, Elliot and Elrose Draughorn all of Clinton, NC; two grandchildren, Tiara Bass and Donald C. Bass, Jr. both of Richmond, VA; his mother, Enolia M. Bass of Bridgeport, CT; four sisters, Tracey Smith, Barbara Bass and Mable Bass all of Bridgeport, CT and Annette S. Durham (Michael) of Clarksville, VA; two brothers, Ray Bass of Richmond, VA and Joe Bass of Dalton, GA;two aunts Catherine Day of Clarksville, VA and Elizabeth Bunch, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bass and Ivy Bass both of Bridgeport, CT; a devoted friend, Minister Clara W. Bass of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Percy Lee Bass will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th St. Clarksville, VA.
