Pauline Inez Burwell Bowers Harvey

Mrs. Pauline Inez Burwell Bowers Harvey, 96, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Brookdale Imperial Plaza, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Harvey was born in Boydton, VA May 1, 1921 to the late Luther Vincent and Betty Beatrice King Burwell. She was a graduate of the historic Thyne Institute, and furthered her education at St. Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA, earning her Teacher’s Degree. Mrs. Harvey was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, South Hill, VA and taught in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Matthew Harvey and one sister, Ida Lucille Burwell Patterson. Cherishing her memories are one son, John P. Bowers, Jr. (Rhetta) of Rowlett, TX; two daughters, Paula Thompson (Larry) of Glen Allen, VA and Joan Harrison (John) of Adelphi, MD; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Inez Burwell Bowers Harvey will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church, South Hill, VA with Rev. Dr. Freddie E. Terry, Jr., Officiant and Rev. James Bowers, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church on Saturday. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
