Pamela Smith Hatcher

Mrs. Pamela Smith Hatcher, 57, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. Mrs. Hatcher was born in Skipwith, VA on October 12, 1962 to the late Charlie, Jr. and Catherine Augusta Smith. She was a 1981 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA, and furthered her education at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond. Mrs. Hatcher was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, and a former Correctional Officer at VA Department of Corrections. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald D. Smith. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Marvin T. Hatcher of Skipwith, VA; one son, Zachery Aaron Jones (Myranda) of Chase City, VA; two daughters, Natasha Brown (Chris) of Boydton, VA and Monica H. Jenkins (Maurice) of Chase City, VA; five grandchildren; four brothers, Samuel Michael Smith (Helene), Mark A. Smith (Wanda) and Russell T. Smith all of Skipwith, VA and Charles Kent Smith (Juanita) of Boydton, VA; three sisters, Yolanda S. Staten (Mike) of Skipwith, VA, Robin Smith of Richmond, VA and Byrd Staten (Henry) of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law, Earlene Palmer; two brothers-in-law, Winthy Hatcher and Robert Lee Hatcher, four aunts, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Pamela Smith Hatcher will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
