Otis Lee Bacon

Mr. Otis Lee Bacon, 78, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Bacon was born in Charlotte County, VA September 14, 1936 to the late Otis and Leanna Gayles Bacon. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. Mr. Bacon was retired from Mecklenburg Correctional Center, Boydton, VA after serving for 22 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bacon was preceded in death by his siblings, Lorraine Tucker, Emma Wilson, Freddie Bacon, Robert Bacon and William Ford. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Elna M. Bacon of Chase City, VA; three sons, Gary Bacon (Jennifer) of Temple TX, Kenneth Bacon (Amy) of Chesterfield, VA and Ronnie Bacon (Amy) of Anchorage, AL; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Leona Johnson (Junious) of Chase City, VA; one brother, James Bacon (Priscilla) of Chesterfield, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Otis Lee Bacon will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Ricky Sampson, officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Services 11:00 A.M.
