Ms. Ophelia S. Crawley, 80, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville. Ms. Crawley was born in Charlotte County, VA September 7, 1929 to the late Milliard Fillmore and Bettie Skipper Smith. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA where she had previously served on the usher board and the choir. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter # 61 and a former employee of Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents Ms. Crawley was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Edmonds and a sister, Queenie Townsend. Cherishing her memories are three children, Elizabeth Middough (Ike) of Alexandria, VA, Andrew Crawley Jr. of Saxe, VA, and John C. Crawley (Virginia) of Red Hill, PA; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary W. Tucker of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Ophelia Crawley will be conducted 11:00 A. M. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA, with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Saxe. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
