Odell Harris Penick

Mrs. Odell Harris Penick, 76, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Chase City Health and Rehab, Chase City, VA. Mrs. Penick was born in Mecklenburg County on April 10, 1941 to the late Charles Lee , Sr. and Marie Walker Harris. She received her education in the Mecklenburg County school system and was a member of Harpers Temple Apostolic Church, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Penick was a former employee of Jonbil, Inc. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Penick was preceded in death by two children, Joann and John Penick, and twelve siblings: Charles, Eddie, Richard, Otis, Willie, Herman, Woodrow, Albert James, Nancy, Bessie, Margaret and Mamie. Cherishing her memories are her husband, John Penick of Chase City, VA; four children, Dorothy Penick, Dora Evans (Willie), Brenda Penick (Ray) and Eddie Penick all of Chase City, VA; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shields and Marie Redd (Elijah) all of Chase City, VA; three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Odell Harris Penick will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Elder Vernell Harper, officiating. Burial will follow in Harpers Temple Apostolic Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
