Obie Sue Watson

Mrs. Obie Sue Watson, 76, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Watson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on December 13, 1945 to the late James Edward McBee and Rosa Lee Greene. She attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak, VA. Mrs. Watson enjoyed shopping, gardening, yard sales and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Watson and two daughters, Bertha Skipwith and Debbie Harris.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons, Charlie Towler, III of Lawton, OK, Jermaine Wood, Johnny Watson and Travis Watson (Stephanie) all of Clarksville, VA; two daughters, JoAnn Towler of Henderson, NC and Yvonne Pettus (Glen) of Chase City, VA; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Louis McBee (Ardell) of Finchly, VA; one sister, Barbara Ann Small of Nelson, VA, two sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Obie Sue Watson will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 25, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Tyrese Skipwith officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
