Nell Darlene Harris

Mrs. Nell Darlene Harris, 83, of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, August 19, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Harris was born in Lunenburg County, VA on November 23, 1940 to the late Clarence and Lula Mitter. She attended Lunenburg County Schools and after graduating was employed by Jonbil, Inc. of Chase City. She later became a self-taught upholsterer and was self-employed for many years. Mrs. Harris was a member of Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church from an early age, and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. Her passions included writing poems and songs, crafts, and singing with the choir.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Curtis Harris of Saxe, VA; three children, Rev. Marvin Harris (Brenda), Angela Harris and Bryon Harris (Laura) all of Saxe, VA; one sister, Louise Scott; two brothers, Charles Mitter (Phyliss) and Clifton Mitter; adopted daughter, Rev. Loretta Bailey; special friend, Novella Saunders, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Darlene Harris will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P. M.
