Nathaniel Clarke

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, Nathaniel Clarke, our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend closed his eyes, quieted his pain and ascended to a beautiful place. We celebrate the infinite love and compassion he shared throughout his life. Mr. Clarke was born to the late Addie and Lucille Clark on May 15, 1951. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Wylliesburg, VA. After completing his primary and secondary education in Mecklenburg and Charlotte Counties, Mr. Clarke received his B.S. Degree in Education from Saint Paul's College of Lawrenceville, VA. He received his M.S. Degree from Virginia State University and relocated to Northern Virginia. He also completed additional post graduate studies at The University of Virginia and George Mason University. After teaching many years in Charlotte and Fairfax Counties, Nathaniel worked as a Public Information Clerk at The Reston Community Center, Reston VA. Upon retiring, Nathaniel worked as a phlebotomist for LabCorp and The Fairfax Department Social Services Child Support Enforcement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Lynn, and his siblings, Christine Williams, Ludene Clark, Eddie Clark and Catherine Hopson. He is survived by his son, Christopher Nathaniel Clarke (Heather); his siblings, Pauline McGhee, Louise Lee, Irene Salley (Thurman), Claudine Clark, and Harold Clark. A memorial service may be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
