Nathaniel Burton

Mr. Nathaniel Burton 65, of Detroit. MI and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Birmingham, AL. Mr. Burton was born in Lunenburg County, VA May 20, 1943 to Robert Lee and Nancy Keen Gayles Burton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and worked for the Detroit Bulk Mail Center in Allen Park, MI until retirement. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Judy Burton of Detroit, MI; five brothers, Floyd of Saxe, VA., David (Charlotte), Harry (Eunice) and Daniel all of Drakes Branch, VA., and Albert (Elizabeth) of Chase City, VA.; four sisters, Beatrice Oliver of Chase City, VA, Willetta Hamilton (Walter) of Sun City, AZ., Maggie Tate of Sun City, AZ and Roberta Mitchell of Washington, DC; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Burton of Chase City, VA and Magnolia Burton of Fort Washington, MD and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Nathaniel Burton will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating. Burial  with military honors will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St., Chase City, VA.
