Nannie Shields Davis

Ms. Nannie Shields Davis, 83, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her residence. Ms. Davis was born August 24, 1933 in Mecklenburg County to the late John and Hattie Snead Shields. She was educated at Bluestone Mission School and was a member of St. Level Baptist Church, Clarksville. She was previously employed by Jonbil, Russell Stover Candies, and was a foster parent for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Roy Shields and a husband, Rankin Mosley, Sr. Cherishing her memories two sons, Rankin Mosley, Jr. of Skipwith and James Mosley of Pikesville, MD; five daughters, Mary Frances Oliver (Harold) of Chase City; Arvis White (Clarence) of Skipwith, Marietha Smith (Vincent) of Clarksville; Annie Jefferies Clay (Pete) of Danville and Georgia Walton of Skipwith; three grandchildren she raised as her own, Denise, Tina and David; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Shields; loyal friend, Henry Jeffress; committed caregiver, Natasha Burton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and devoted neighbors. A special thanks to Simone Lyons, AmeriCare Plus, Felicia Marrow, Inette Fountain and Walter Terry. Funeral services for Ms. Nannie Shields Davis will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Level Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Toney W. Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
