Ms. Nancy A. Credle, 60, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Retreat Hospital, Richmond, VA. Ms. Credle was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Nov. 12, 1951 to the late Samuel and Lessie Pamplin Pettus. She was a 1970 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA and also attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, Richmond, VA. She was  employed by Verizon Communication for 26 years, also by Home Instead Senior Care and Life Touch National School Studios. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, VA where she served in the capacities of Imani Doorkeeper, Agape Book Ministry, Food Ministry and various other activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Freddie Pettus. Cherishing her memories are her children, Anissa M. Smith (Reginald) of Union, NJ and Michael D. Credle, Jr. of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; sisters, Mary Moore (James) of Fayetteville, NC, Yvonne Brown (Jim) of Egg Harbor, NJ, Betty Jean Love and Doris Blake (Joe) of Irvington, NJ and Estelle Pettus of Piscataway, NJ; brothers, Samuel Pettus (Geneva), Glenn E. Pettus (Evonne),  James Pettus of Chase City, VA, and Woodrow Pettus (Shirley) of Fayetteville, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Ms. Nancy A. Credle will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Friday, September 7, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 1501 Decatur Street, Richmond, Virginia with Rev. Dr. Derick E. Jones delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Public viewing and visitation for family and friends will be Friday, September 7, at First Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. and Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
