Monte C. Joshua

Mr. Monte C. Joshua, 62, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mr. Joshua was born in Peekskill, NY February 14, 1949 to the late Itwise and Ola M. Haskins. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mr. Joshua was a former employee of Burlington Industries. Mr. Joshua was preceded in death by one brother, Tyrone. Cherishing his memories are an aunt, Ruby Carrington Alderson (who cared for him as a mother) of Red Oak, VA; two sisters, Elaine Brown (Gene) of Schenectady, NY and Jackie Anderson of Lawrenceville, NJ; two brothers, Kenny of Red Oak, VA and Silas of Jarrett, VA; four uncles, two aunts, sister-in-law, Tina and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Monte C. Joshua will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Roger L. Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Viewing for Mr. Joshua will begin 10:00 A.M. Saturday. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
