Miss Karen Tameka Goode

Miss Karen Tameka Goode, affectionately known as “Meka”, age 26, of Drakes Branch, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Miss Goode was born in Halifax County, VA on February 17, 1989 to the late Earl Staten and Renet S. Goode. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. She was formerly employed by Bacon District Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. In addition to her father, Miss Goode was preceded in death by one son, Baby KTG. Cherishing her memories are three sons, Karon, Kyree and Kyron of Drakes Branch, VA; her nephew, who she raised as her own, Lil Mark Goode; her mother, Renet S. Goode of Wylliesburg, VA; her aunt, who raised her as a child, Geneva Hurt (Winston) of Drakes Branch, VA; three sisters, Kierra Goode, Stephanie Pitman (Johnny) and Tameka Staten; three brothers, Mark Goode (Patricia), Sean Staten and Jeremy Brooks; paternal grandmother, Florence Staten; great-grandmother, Lillie Mayo; seven aunts; five uncles; five great-aunts; one great-uncle and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Karen Tameka Goode will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
