Minister Eugene Rossevelt Marable

Minister Eugene Roosevelt Marable, 73, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 13, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Minister Marable was born in Lunenburg County, VA Nov. 4, 1935 to the late William G. and Mattie Sue Nunnally Marable. He received his education in the public Schools of Lunenburg County.  He was a graduate of Tribune University of Ministries. Minister Marable was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA where he had previously served in the capacity of Chairman of the Deacon Board and a member of the male chorus. He retired from Burlington Industries after 15 years of service.  Minister Marable was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Margaret White Marable.  Cherishing his memories is one daughter, Octavia Regina Marable of Chase City, VA; four aunts, Leatha Marable of Chase City, VA., Ella Callahan, Victoria, VA., Ruby Johnson, Mount Vernon, NY., and Barbara Marable of Baltimore, MD; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Burton and Renette Marable both of Chase City, VA; two brothers-in-law, Albert Burton of Chase City, VA and Andrew Wynn of Baltimore, MD and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Minister Eugene R. Marable will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at Giles-Harris Funeral Home.  Arrangements are by at Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
