Milton Snead

Mr. Milton “June” Snead, 71, of Bridgeport, CT and formerly of Mecklenburg County, VA entered eternal rest Friday, May 2, 2014 in Connecticut. Mr. Snead was born in Mecklenburg County, VA January 1, 1943 to the late Johnnie and Minnie Snead. He received his early education in the Mecklenburg County Schools and was a graduate of Robert Treat High School in Newark, NJ. Mr. Snead relocated to Bridgeport, CT, where he worked as a taxi driver for over 25 years. He was formerly employed by Raybestos, Avco, and Remington Arms, and until his health began to fail a security guard with Murphy Security. Mr. Snead was a U. S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita, three sisters, Marie, Millie and Gracie and three brothers, Raymond, John and Burnette. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Shirley Snead; three sons, Derek Williams (Charmaine), Milton Snead, Jr. (Dione) and Sonny Snead; three daughters, Diane Scott, Theresa Snead and Nykole Elliot (David); 14 grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Snead and Barbara Snead, both of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside memorial service for Mr. Milton Snead will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Snead Family Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Arrangements are by C. H.
