Milton Edward Hayes, Sr.

Mr. Milton Edward Hayes, Sr., 79, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Sunday August 25, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Hayes was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 31, 1934 to the late Samuel L. and Hattie Oliver Hayes. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, South Hill, VA. He was formerly employed by Arlington County, VA in public works as a maintenance worker and later as a line maintenance operator for Lewis Tree Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten siblings. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Eula K. Hayes of Boydton, VA; three sons, Milton E. Hayes, Jr. of Chase City, VA, Alphonso R. Hayes (Ulee) of Germany and Reginald L. Hayes (Markia) of Tampa, FL;  two daughters, Gwendolyn H. Smith of Bracey, VA and Florence G. Hayes-Addison (Shoneric, Sr.) of Virginia Beach, VA; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Martin of Charlotte, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Milton Edward Hayes, Sr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, South Hill, VA with Brother Pernell Harper, Officiating.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
