Milo Melvin Mangum

Mr. Milo Melvin Mangum, 72, of Creedmoor, NC and formerly of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital, Durham, NC. Mr. Mangum was born in Clarksville, VA October 3, 1945 to the late Roy, Sr. and Louise Pettus Mangum. He was a 1965 graduate of West End High School, Clarksville, VA, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Mangum was formerly employed as a custodian for Westbury County Public Schools, NY. In his spare time, he enjoyed landscaping. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mangum was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Havanna Veal Mangum of Creedmoor, NC; five sons, Matt Mangum (Tamara) and Monte Mangum all of Creedmoor, NC; James Veal and Greg Carter (Veneatrice) all of Charlotte, NC and Andrew Carter (Christine) of Westbury, NY; three daughters, Greta Brackett of Creedmoor, NC, Robin Barrett (Jeremy) of Durham, NC and Collis Carter of Bronx, NY; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, David Downey, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Milo Melvin Mangum will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Dorothy Evans, officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
