Mills Jr. Brooks

Mr. Mills Brooks Jr., 78, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at VCU Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Brooks was born in Ellenboro, NC on August 29, 1937 to the late Mills Sr. and Geneva Norris-Brooks. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Webs Church in Ellenboro, NC. He moved to New Jersey at an early age and was employed by POP Reality Corp for 40 years until his retirement in 2001. After retirement, Mr. Brooks moved to Chase City, VA  and made it his home. He and his loving and devoted companion, Virginia, lived their lives traveling, enjoying family and cherishing the life they shared. He kept his strong belief in God and joined Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA where he became a Deacon. He also enjoyed singing in the Male Chorus and remained a faithful church member until his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Buren and Walter Brooks. Cherishing his memories are  his loving companion, Virginia Pettus; his children, Ronald Brooks, Tina Brooks-Carter (Vince), Laura Clark-Carmichael and Terry Clark-McCullough; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Brooks-Evans; brother, Richard Brooks (Hazel); special friends, Paul Gaglioti and Junior Lewis Brown and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Mills Brooks, Jr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 23, 2015 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Family  Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 Noon until time of service at Silone Baptist Church. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Services 1:00 P.M.
