Michael Lee Keene

Mr. Michael Lee Keene, 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at VCU/Community Memorial Health Center, South Hill, VA. Mr. Keene was born in Chase City, VA Nov. 9, 1956 to the late Robert Lee Keene and Lillian Elizabeth Gayles Keene. He was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA and was a former employee of Burlington Industries and Butler Lumber Company. Michael loved basketball, music and walking Main Street being the Mayor. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert, Jr. and Tony Keene, a sister, Diane Bullock and a brother-in-law, David Burton. Cherishing his memories are one son, Marcus Epps of Northern, VA; his mother, Lillian E. Keene of Chase City, VA; two sisters, Cynthia Keene of Petersburg, VA and Joan Burton of Richmond, VA; three aunts, Patsy Keene (Worther), Roberta McFail and Maurice Goode of Chase City, VA; two uncles, Walter Goode and Winfred Keene of Chase City, VA; brother-in-law, Edward Bullock and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Michael Lee Keene will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will begin Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
