Mr. Melvin Nathaniel Hatcher, Jr., 40, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, February 12, 2018 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mr. Hatcher was born in South Hill, VA March 4, 1977 to the late Melvin N. Hatcher, Sr. and Brenda Smith Hatcher. He attended Bluestone Senior High School, Skipwith, VA and was a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Mr. Hatcher was a self-employed barber. In addition to his father, Mr. Hatcher was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Winthy Sr. and Julia Harper Hatcher, and his maternal grandparents, Louie and Lula Alberta Revis Smith. Cherishing his memories is his son, Melvin N. Hatcher III of Miami, FL; mother, Brenda Hatcher of Chase City, VA; two sisters, Kelly Hatcher of Chase City, VA and Camille Baskerville of Chase City, VA; two brothers, Cameron Hatcher of Chase City, VA and Brandon Hatcher of Richmond, VA; one aunt, Earline Palmer of South Hill; six uncles, Winthy Hatcher, Jr., Robert L. Hatcher, Marvin Hatcher , Eric Smith, Edward Smith and Leon Craddock and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. As per the family’s request there will be no services.
