Mattie Pearl Oliver

Mrs. Mattie Pearl Oliver, 72, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, March 17, 2025 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.

Mrs. Oliver was born in Charlotte County, VA on February 25, 1953 to the late Bertha L. Banks and Leroy Brooks, Sr. She received her education in the public schools of Charlotte County and was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Chase City, VA. Mrs. Oliver was previously employed by Sauder Manufacturing Co. as a sewing machine operator. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards sewing and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Aaron D. Wilson; two brothers, Edward Leroy, Jr. and George Carl Brooks; and one sister, Manie Jones.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Willie James Oliver of Chase City, VA; two sons, McKinley Wilson of Gatesville, NC and Tremayne Wilson of Chase City, VA; one daughter, Cassandra Pettus (Anthony) of Chase City, VA; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Brooks, Sr. of Washington, DC and Arthur Moseley of Richmond, VA; five sisters, Frances Crawley of Washington, DC, Margaret Walker, Gracie Thompson and Sandra Brooks all of Drakes Branch, VA, and Joyce Parker of Keysville, VA; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Pearl Oliver will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Raleigh M. Bagley, III officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
