Mattie Lou Spruill

Mrs. Mattie Wright Spruill, 86, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Monday, November 23, 2015 at Sentara MeadowView Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Spruill was born in Oxford, NC February 13, 1929 to the late John and Mary Robinson Wright. She attended the public schools of Granville, County and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #1. Some of her hobbies included cooking, planting flowers, quilting and singing.  Mrs. Spruill was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Spruill; two brothers, Andrew Wright and John Wright, Jr. and one sister, Annie Lee Wright Cross. Cherishing her memories are five sons, Roy Wright (Ruth) of Oxford, NC, Larry Spruill of Skipwith, VA, John Spruill of Salem, VA, McClendon Spruill of Temple, TX and Richard Spruill of Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Pattie Dodson of Clarksville, VA and Bobbie Jean Lacks (Lester) of Clover, VA; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Wright Spruill will be conducted Friday, November 27, 2015 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Charles D. Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Baptist Church #1  Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.  Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2015 C.H.
