Mr. Matthew Pleasant Crawley, Jr., 39, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mr. Crawley was born in Richmond, VA on May 6, 1983 to Cynthia and Matthew Crawley, Sr. He was a graduate of Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA. Mr. Crawley was previously employed with Lewis Tree Service. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and children, and in his spare time enjoyed fishing, dancing, and joking with friends. Mr. Crawley was preceded in death by his son, Donte Crawley; grandmother, Marie Crawley and two uncles, Joe and Herman Crawley. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Shelly Crawley of Boydton, VA; two sons, Da’Mari and Darius Crawley both of Boydton, VA; three daughters, Da’jah Crawley of Chase City, VA, Ny’kera Crawley of Boydton, VA and Teriahna Crawley of Clarksville, VA; his mother, Cynthia Crawley of Chase City, VA; father, Matthew Crawley, Sr. of Chase City, VA; brother, Darrell Crawley (April) of Farmville, VA; maternal grandmother, Vernice Tucker of Chase City, VA; two sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Matthew Pleasant Crawley, Jr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Beverly Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Finneywood Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
