Matthew Jr. Mayo

Mr. Matthew Nelson Mayo, 59, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Mayo was born in Chase City, VA July 4, 1954 to the late Matthew and Elva Mayo. He received his education in the Mecklenburg County School System. He was a fork lift operator with Sporoco. Cherishing his memories are his wife of thirty seven years, Alma L. Mayo of the home; two daughters, Antoinette M. Lee (Tony) of Keysville, VA, and Andrea N. Marable (Leon) of Chase City, VA; one son, Nelson M. Mayo of Chase City, VA; ten grandchildren, four sisters, Evelyn C. Bragg of Newark, NJ, Doris A. Mayo of Patterson, NJ, Marilynn M. Walker of South Hill, VA and Carolyn E. Chapman of Spring Lake, NC; three brothers, Robert L. Watts of Skipwith, VA, James C. Mayo of Butner, NC and Larry D. Mayo of Spring Lake,  NC; three aunts; eight sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Matthew Nelson Mayo will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Friday July 12, 2013 at Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA.
