Marylena Elam Valentine

Mrs. Marylena Elam Valentine,  89, of Chase City, Virginia departed this life Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA.    Marylena was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years John A. Valentine, one son, Earl A. Valentine, one daughter-in-law, Elsie Valentine, and one nephew Roger Brown.    Those left to cherish her wonderful and precious memory include her three children: Robert Valentine, Johnsie Valentine Davis (John), and Fred S. Valentine (Carolyn);   Nine grandchildren, Gregory Valentine, Germaine Davis Calloway (Herman), Steve Valentine, Claudette (Nathaniel) Powell, Tanya Davis, Veronica Valentine,  F. Sterling Valentine, Stanley (Jenny) King, Earl A. (Keisha) Valentine Jr. and twelve great grandchildren; one devoted sister-in-law, Margaret Valentine Brown-Flippen; two devoted nephews, Ernest Timberlake (Ann), Earl Timberlake (LaWana) and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mrs. Marylena Elam Valentine will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. E. Douglas Reams, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
