Mary Watkins Wood

Mrs. Mary Watkins Wood, 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at W. S. Hundley Annex, South Hill, Va.  Mrs. Wood was born  in Lunenburg County, VA January 23, 1912 to the late Cleveland and Fannie Watkins.  She attended the Lunenburg County Schools and was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA.  She was a homemaker.   She was preceded in death by her husband Ned Dyke Wood, one daughter, and three sons. Cherishing her memories are two daughters Albertha Wood Hayes and Frances Wood McClenney; one son William Wood; three sisters Arlene Bunch, Lettie Hall and Naomi Johnson; 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be conducted 1:00P.M. Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. E. Douglas Reams, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
