Mary Terry

Mrs. Mary Terry, 76, of South Chesterfield, VA and formerly of Nelson entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Terry was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on October 8, 1940 to the late George and Jessie Lee Davis Terry. She was a graduate of West End High School, Skipwith, VA and a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA where she was head of the Missionary and a member of the Welcome Committee. Mrs. Terry was a former supervisor at Verizon, retiring after 32 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild; three brothers, Phillip, Douglas and Cornell, Sr. and three sisters, Queen Terry Durham Dean, Marshall T. Henderson and Adelene Terry. Cherishing her memories are her loving husband, Stephen Terry, Jr. of South Chesterfield, VA; two children, Jeanette and Tyrone Terry both of Brooklyn, NY; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alberta Terry of Brooklyn, NY, Claudette T. Herndon of Lewisville, TX and Charlene T. Dickey of Oxford, NC; Patricia D. Branch, Priscilla D. Jennings and Oliver T. Durham, Jr, whom she treated as siblings and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Terry will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 9, 2016 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
