Dr. Mary Stokes Frayser, 78 of Keysville, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Dr. Frayser was born in Lunenburg County, VA October 14, 1929 to the late Goodrich Henry, Sr. and Elizabeth Holloway Stokes. Dr. Frayser attended Lunenburg County Public Schools; she furthered her education at Virginia Union University, Howard University School of Social Work where she received her Masters and Doctorate Degree. She was a member of New Rehoboth Baptist Church, Keysville, VA and was retired from the District of Columbia Dept. of Child and Family Services. Cherishing her memories are three sisters, Bernice Charlton (Keith) and Atlas Robinson all of Keysville, VA and Shirley Byrd (Erskine)of Hyattsville, MD; one brother, Goodrich H. Stokes Jr. (Joyce) of Silver Spring, MD; one sister-in-law, Pattie Frayser Lewis, Gardena, CA ; four nieces, one nephew and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Dr. Mary Stokes Frayser will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. P. Frances Watson delivering the eulogy, Rev. Jasper Cheek, officiating, and Rev. Ricky Allen assisting. Burial will follow in New Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Sept. 16, 2008 from 7 until 8 P.M. at Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Mains Street, Chase City, VA.
