Mary Helen Morton Williams

Mrs. Mary Helen Morton Williams, 83, of Chase City, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2015 at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center of Richmond, Virginia. Mary Helen was born April 18, 1931 to the late Edie and Louis Davis Morton in Lunenburg County, Virginia. At an early age, she joined the Calvary Baptist Church of Victoria, Virginia where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and various other ministries of the church. Mary Helen attended the public schools of Lunenburg County and graduated from the Lunenburg High School in Victoria, Virginia in June of 1948. On December 24, 1952 she united in holy matrimony to Hervey Edward Williams. To this union was born one child, who preceded them both in death. Mary Helen, as she was affectionately called, was employed in New York for a number of years, but returned home and retired as a home health care provider for Mrs. Hilda Love of Love and Associates in Chase City, Virginia. In addition to her parents and her child, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hervey E. Williams and three brothers, Bradley, John Hodges and Monroe Morton. Cherishing her memories are a vast number of loving cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Helen Morton Williams will be conducted on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the Giles Harris Funeral Home 1304 North Main Street in Chase City, Virginia with Rev. Willie Hardy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery at 2246 Rehoboth Road, Victoria, Virginia.
