Mary Eliza Alexander

Mrs. Mary Eliza Alexander, 101, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Ginter Hall South, North Chesterfield, VA. Mrs. Alexander was born on June 13, 1919 in Boydton, VA to the late Myles and Easter Morton. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, and was a lifelong member of Lands Chapel RZUA Church in Boydton, VA. While there she served as treasurer of the Church Improvement Committee, and organized the annual Homecoming. Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband Tump Alexander; daughter, Wilma Findley; grandson, Jason L. Findley; five sisters, Alice Morton Baskerville, Nova Elizabeth Hutchinson, Effie Morton, Pearl Morton, Ann Morton, and a brother, Richard Morton. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Alexander of South Hill, VA; granddaughters, Susan Alexander of Browns Mills, NJ, Dawn Woodley of Palmer, PA, Mary Hazelwood of Browns Mills, NJ and Wilma Barfield of Perth Amboy, NJ; grandson, Adam Hutchinson (Erin) of Deerfield, MA; great-grandchildren, David Hoff, Nicole Barfield, Justin Alexander, Brittany Woodley, Alexanderia Tump Williams, Jason Hutchinson, and Donald Hutchinson; sister, Mary Jane Simmons of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Lands Chapel RZUA Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA with Rev. Lovely Moore officiating. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
