Mary Dailey Brooks

Mrs. Mary Dailey Brooks, 90, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Brooks was born in Charlotte County, VA November 10, 1916 to the late Dorsey and Rosa Redd Dailey. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Saxe, VA. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Brooks and five children. Cherishing her memory are seven children, Evelyn Brown, Gwen Canada, Herman Brooks and Ernest Brooks all of Chase City, VA, Rosa Williams of Philadelphia, PA, Harvey Brooks of Falls Church, VA and Marcia Oliver of Richmond, VA; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; three daughters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dailey Brooks will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 18, 2007 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Saxe, VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
